A Lifesaving Experience

When I first learned about the Volunteer Dental Program it sounded perfect for me.  I had not seen a dentist in over six years.  It was a way for me to provide a service an agency in need of assistance and I could generate volunteer hours to use for dental care.  The coordinator provided training in dental care (the importance of brushing more than once a day, flossing and rinsing) Things you may have learned early in life but maybe did not perform all of the tasks. During a routine dental visit, a very serious condition was found, which resulted in me needing oral surgery.  The outcome was a positive one but could have ended badly if not discovered early.  I can honestly say the program was a lifesaving experience for me.  Thank you so much, Suzanne, for all your help.
